Banjo Kazooie: Grunty’s Revenge
A brand new original tale in the series set after the events of the first game and before the second game. Using a custom written engine that combined flat graphical layers with fake 3D collision to create a game on the GBA that offers a play experience exceptionally close to that of the 3D counterparts without being able to produce the 3D graphics required.
Featuring large open worlds free for the player to explore as well as several minigames that leverage the machines hardware to its fullest.
Responsibilities
Design input into all areas of the game, taking responsibility for 3 world and all content within them.
Documentation for design of game mechanics.
Worked closely with code on the systems required to bring the game to the GBA in the way it was.
Whiteboxing using propitiatory editors of 3 of the worlds within the game.
Design, balance and implementation of several key features and gameplay mechanics.
